Uniquely U Fashions was established in 2015 by CEO Shelia Lee in Huntsville, Alabama. At a young age, she dreamed of being a fashion designer who takes creativity to a new level. She struggled with finding clothes to fit her unique shape as she began to transition into her teen years. At times, she would have to rely on the women's clothing department to find items that fit just right. This was due to the limited styles and sizes available for teenagers with similar body types as her.
Growing up, Shelia loved the sound of music and the beauty of fashion. Whenever she would sing, dance, or play dress up with her cousins, she would begin to imagine the bright future that was ahead of her. As her creative passion continued to grow, she gained the opportunity to learn how to sew in high school at the age of 14, with the guidance of her teacher Mrs. Hightower through the trade school program in Athens, Alabama. Fast forward to today, Shelia Lee has had the opportunity to showcase her Uniquely U Fashions brand as one of the designers for local and regional fashion shows. She’s also had the opportunity to appear in regional magazines, such as Queen and Southern Living.
